There are five types of membership to the AMA: Full memberships are available to magazine publishers who meet the eligibility criteria set out below* . Magazine publishers are permitted to include additional titles for the cost of $50 each. Each membership includes the listing of one title on the website. Corporate Associate Memberships are available to businesses who work within the magazine industry including printers, film houses, agencies, etc. Corporate members are eligible to stand for office, to vote at meetings, and to participate in setting agendas. Educational Memberships are open to educational institutions that provide courses relevant to the magazine publishing industry (journalism, photography, design, advertising, etc.). Affiliate memberships are available to non-profit organizations with a vested interest in the magazine industry. Associate memberships are available to writers, photographers, graphic artists, students and other individuals interested in the magazine industry. Fee Structure (annual fee)Full Membership: $250 (plus $50 for each additional title) Corporate Associate Member: $250 Educational Membership: $75 Affiliate Membership $50 Associate Membership $30 *“Publisher” means any individual, corporation, partnerships, unincorporated association or organization publishing a magazine. The publisher may become a member and is permitted to appoint some person to act as the representative of that periodical for membership purposes. The publisher may change its representative at any time by written notice to the Ineligible publications include: a) catalogues, promotional publications, daily or weekly newspapers, company or club publications b) magazines whose advertising to editorial ratio exceeds 70:30 (averaged annually) As a new organization, the Atlantic Magazines Association is open to consider all applications.
